Yes I know that we're a hundred miles from Chelsea but the RHS show there is and always has had a big influence upon how we decorate our homes
The British Iris Society will be exhibiting again at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and, to celebrate their 100th anniversary, have collaborated with Poole based GP&J Baker on the wonderful Baker Iris + Bird & Iris collections. George Percival Baker was a founding member of the British Iris Society and President in 1924. In 1884, he and his brother James founded fabric and wallcovering company, GP & J Baker.
Their beautiful collections come as upholstery and curtain weight fabrics which really show off these beautiful blooms without being overly dominant in a room. Following on from the Ashmore and Bridport collections (For the Baker lifestyle brand) GP& J really show that they move with the times whilst retaining their historical roots.
If you do visit the show I hear that the RNLI also has a garden for the first time in it's almost 200 year history so please do go and take a look and support this wonderful charity which , as I'm sure you all know, is based here in Poole and exists on donations alone. Designed by the renowned Chris Beardshaw it's going to look amazing with coastal whites and blues along with this year's biggest trend colour pink. Purbeck stone , oak, elm and water allow the visitor to reflect upon the calm way in which the RNLI has carried out their work saving so many lives.
